I was happy to see your page, and profoundly dismayed by the actions of the Council to 'abate' a 'public nuisance' - that is, a house erected by and for Black Americans! Please tell me what has happened. I became interested in Edenton because I am having my University students read Harriet Jacobs' book, and I was curious - and now I know that racism is still alive and well after nearly 200 years.
